Pontiac fans won’t want to miss this all No Reserve Beachcomber Estate Auction in New Haven, IN on May 27, 2017 including several classic cars, parts, tools, wheels and tires. Three collectible Pontiac automobiles will sell to the highest registered bidder including a 1947 Pontiac Streamliner, a 1976 Pontiac Trans Am, and a extremely rare 2009 Pontiac Solstice GXP Coupe.
There is a lot of talk these days about what modern cars will become collectibles, and the ’09 Pontiac Solstice GXP Coupe hits all the right notes beginning with the unfortunate demise of the Pontiac Brand in 2010. The Solstice coupe would only be offered to the public one year, and with astoundingly low production numbers of just 1,152 coupes (956 built for USA) of which just 781 were GXP models according to solsticeforum.com report on “Sequential VIN Solstice Coupes.”
With a base price of $30,995 USD, the GXP Solstice was a unique sports car that offered surprising speed for a 2.0L/260-hp DOHC turbo charged engine. Being capable of slingshotting the driver from 0-60 mph in just 5.4 seconds is impressive enough, but it turned out this little hot-rod was nimble in the corners as well. If that hasn’t tripped your trigger yet, this rare find has less than 5,000 miles on her! *Please note, Solstice is sold with stock 5 spoke wheels not pictured.
